Dear Friends,

An important note about the booklet:

The cut-off date for sending your bio/photo is July 31.

We are toiling away on assembling the wonderful booklet to commemorate our Golden Reunion.  It's a labor of love, and this time we are going all out.  We'll have many more bios/photos of classmates than ever before.  Don't delay-don't hesitate (procrastinate?)--be sure you're included, by sending a current or recent photo NOW and anything you want to say to your fellow classmates--an update on what's going on in your life, memories, deep thoughts, shallow thoughts--anything at all that you'd like to say.

We've saved you plenty of space, so your update can be as short or as long as you like. The best way to email both the photo and the bio are as two attachments, rather than in the body of the email. Please, if possible, do not send a very large photo file, and jpegs are preferred.  (Sorry to be picky--just letting you know what makes our work go faster!)  Help us out by sending your bio and photo NOW to 61.committee@gmail.com

It's work putting the booklet together, but a true pleasure to read the stories and enjoy the wonderful current photos.  What an amazing group we are!

If you do not have email access to send your bio and photo, then mail it to Barbara Johnson, 7500 Shadywood Road, Bethesda, MD 20817. We can scan your photos and input your bio for the booklet.

A new treat:  Reunion DVD - Classmate Carol Wilson Pattison is planning a special treat for us.  Carol and her camera will circulate at all three events.  These candid shots, plus some old photos from our archives and a background of '50s rock 'n roll will be available shortly after the reunion.

What terrific keepsakes!  Years from now you can look at the booklet and watch the DVD and remember all the fun you at the 50th reunion.

Still on the fence?

If you're still thinking about whether or not to attend, some additional comments from our classmates:

"I see so many reunion classes just wither and I am not sure that I have thanked the reunion committee enough for the spectacular job that you guys do.   It makes me proud to be a member of the class of '61 and a little less pissed about being so freaking old."

". . . your messages were just the nudge I needed to be a part of what was a wonderful, emotionally enriching, heartwarming weekend. The reunion committee did a superb job of arranging things, and you were right, everyone was so friendly.  For at least this one classmate of yours, this past weekend will be a cherished memory."

"This was my first reunion. Your efforts made it really fun and worthwhile. I was concerned that I would be lost among the attendees, but that never happened. As I made my way around, talking to folks I had not seen in 45 years, I was in awe of how much effort went into making the reunion, and all three venues, a success."

"I don't have the words to express my feelings from the last reunion - what comes closest is 'awesome.'  The feeling of belonging was new and it was wonderful. I look forward to Oct. and to reconnecting and making new friends too!"

Further Questions? Check out our website: click here, email the committee at 61.committee@gmail.com, or call Sandy Badian Weiss 301-340-6422 or Barbara Johnson 301-365-0359. If you don't have access to our class website to see who is coming or if you need directions, again Sandy or Barbara will be happy to help.

HOW TO MAKE RESERVATIONS:

Please check the event
s you plan to attend, the number in your party, and if you want a copy of the very best, most jam-packed booklet yet. Speaking of the booklet, if you are coming to the reunion, you can pick it up there.  If not coming to the reunion, it will be mailed with extra cost for shipping and handling. We apologize if this was confusing on the flyer you got in the mail.

The cut-off date for sending your reservations is September 14. However, to avoid inflicting collective stress on the reunion committee, please respond as soon as you can.  We always get right up to the last minute wondering if we'll meet our "best guess" for attendance (on which we base our costs)--and we get really nervous when the date is approaching and we still don't know if you're coming.  So thanks for getting back to us as early as possible.  And we need you to fill out the form, and send the payment, even if you have told us before that you plan to come.  This is the real thing  now folks!

How to make reservations by regular mail:  To pay by check or your VISA or MasterCard, you need to print out the form, fill it in. Either fill in with complete credit card information or mail a check.  The check should be made out to Smith Barney.  Optionally for credit card payments you may use email. Just remember if you email the form, it must include a credit card payment.

hand on computerHow to make reservations via email:  We suggest that you forward this email to 61.committee@gmail.com, fill out and send, or highlight the form below, copy it (control C) then print it on your email program (control V) fill it out and then send it to 61.committee@gmail.com

BUT PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ONLY FOR PAYING BY CREDIT CARD.  Pretty please do not email a form without payment.

Make a reservation with a form on our class website:  There is yet another way to email or print out a reservation form by simply clicking on the Class of '61 website  with the same options of either emailing it to 61.committee@gmail.com as an attachment or printing it out and sending it in the mail to Sandy Badian Weiss, 9509 Windcroft Way, Potomac, MD 20854. The form is provided in an interactive format in excel and as a pdf file.

No matter how you decide to make your reservation, we will receive it with gratitude and you'll have the peace of mind knowing your reservations are complete!

Speaking of gratitude, we want to thank those of you who have generously sent in donations to help defray the costs of creating this fantastic special event!  (And we can still use more, so, if you can, please chip in with an extra donation to help cover the reunion overall expenses.)

THANKS!
