Summer Academy is Lauded at Foundation’s Annual Event

An enthusiastic group of supporters enjoyed fine wines, great food, and wonderful camaraderie as they gathered in March for the 5th annual Wine, Chocolate and Cheese Party sponsored by the B-CC HS Educational Foundation.  This year’s event focused on the important work of The Summer Academy, a three-week program designed to ease the transition to high school for students struggling at Westland MS.

Two New Grants Awarded!

The B-CC HS Educational Foundation is pleased to announce two grants that were recently awarded to the B-CC HS IB Program. The first grant will allow the purchase of software that will streamline administrative tasks of the diploma program, saving the IB teachers many hours of time. The second grant will pay for an accompanist for the live public performances now required of IB music students, while Mr. White will focus on recording the events. …

B-CC HS Educational Foundation Welcomes New Board Members

This fall, the Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Educational Foundation elected three new members to three-year terms on its 18-member Board. Nancy Fax is managing partner of the Bethesda law firm of Pasternak & Fidis, P.C., concentrating on estate planning and estate and trust administration. Bruce Rosenblum is a partner with the law firm K&L Gates, representing mutual funds and their boards of directors. Lisa Throckmorton is executive vice president for SpeakerBox Communications, which provides public relations and marketing services …

Planning a B-CC High School Reunion?

School tours are a great way to augment your weekend of catching up and reliving great B-CC memories. The classes of 1960, 1970 and 1975 have already had successful tours this Fall and the classes of 1985 and 1990 are expected over the Thanksgiving weekend. If your class is exploring a donation to B-CC, the Foundation is also a conduit for class gift giving. …

The Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Educational Foundation was established in 1995 during a time of declining enrollment and deteriorating facilities at B-CC High School. The Foundation took on the charge to help improve school facilities, raise academic rigor, and re-engineer B-CC for the 21st Century

The Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Educational Foundation was established in 1995 during a time of declining enrollment and deteriorating facilities at B-CC High School. The Foundation took on the charge to help improve school facilities, raise academic rigor, and re-engineer B-CC for the 21st Century.

Foundation Net Revenue 1996-2016 By the summer of 2016, the Foundation has raised more than two and a half million dollars to meet that challenge and to invest in academic excellence at B-CC High School. With new programs and a newly modernized facility that was completed in February 2002, B-CC’s enrollment, reflecting community confidence in the school, has been increasing steadily ever since.

The generosity of alumni, parents, faculty, students, businesses, and community members has made it possible for the Foundation to fund innovative academic support programs that promote high academic standards and support success for all B-CC students. In the process, the Foundation helped bring several “firsts” to B-CC High School:
